The Malta Intellectual Property Awards recognise and promote the creation of intellectual property in Malta. These awards celebrate innovation and creativity in various fields, including science, technology, and the creative industries. The Scientific Initiative Award specifically acknowledges outstanding research and development achievements. Past winners include auxetic foam production by Smart Materials Limited, and stem cell research by Prof. Pierre Schembri Wismayer.
This year, ICECAP is proud to join this prestigious group ! Our work in developing micro-cooling solutions has earned us this honor, along with the €8,000 prize. This achievement reflects our commitment to innovation and future IP filings. This builds upon our existing patents related to thermal isolation systems (US20240032425A1 / WO2024018288A1) and power optimisation methods (US20240028100A1 / WO2024018287A1).
At ICECAP, we believe that innovative technology should be available to everyone. We’re committed to solving our clients’ thermal challenges whether through licensing agreements, integration into existing products, or by purchasing our Aristat Controller.
We extend our gratitude to the University of Malta’s Knowledge Transfer Office, New Energy Ltd, and all our incredible collaborators. Your support and expertise have been invaluable on this journey. We would also like to congratulate the runners-up, The BioArte, for their work on human microbiota.
The Malta Intellectual Property Awards are organised by the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects of Malta, and recognised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). Our team at ICECAP Systems extends its gratitude to Xjenza Malta for their invaluable support.
